Regenerative Food Systems Investment Launches New Event for Australia & Oceania Region

Investors, Farmers, and Project Originators will Gather to Advance Regenerative Ag Investment

Investments in regenerative agriculture not only support carbon sequestration to combat climate change but also offer numerous other ecological, economic, and social benefits. To name a few:

Ecological: increased soil life, nutrient density, water retention, biodiversity, and whole-system resilience.

Economic: improved margins as operators can cut costly inputs while maintaining yields, improving land value, and potentially garnering premiums for their products.

Social: by eliminating addiction to costly chemical inputs, focusing on regional food supply chains and supporting healthy farms that can continue to thrive generation after generation – regenerative agriculture fosters community resilience.

At the same time farmers around the world continue to identify capital as a barrier to adoption and expansion of regenerative practices – for start-up, establishment and equity. In addition, downstream investments in processing and infrastructure, as well as consumer demand are necessary to build a pipeline for regenerative products to flow.

The opportunity is strong but not widely understood and barriers to expansion and investment do exist. Regenerative Food Systems Investment (RFSI) was established to address this gap in understanding and now RFSI is launching a two-day event focused on catalyzing both conversation and action around investment in regenerative agriculture in Australia and the Oceania region.

RFSI Australia, scheduled for May 26 and 27 (9 a.m. – 1 p.m. AEST), is designed to bring diverse actors from investment, finance, food, agtech, and agriculture together for actionable learning and networking. Day 1 will focus on foundational strategy and specifically the what is and the why for regenerative ag investing – as well as who should be at the table. Day 2 will focus on the opportunities for investment and how to invest (who and where). The program is designed to:

  • Outline the opportunities for investment and capital needed to move regenerative agriculture forward
  • Address the barriers for further adoption of and investment in of this type of system
  • Share effective strategies for the deployment of capital to diverse projects
  • Examine and learn from success stories and case studies
  • Accelerate a long-term dialogue between investors and project originators that drives further capital allocation to the space

Speakers will include investors already active in the space, regenerative farmers, and other practitioners and project originators whose expertise and insight can equip attendees with the tools they need to be more active in this space.
