Gretchen Newman, Office Manager at Horizon Research, Inc. (HRI), received a Bachelors’ degree in Business Administration from Mount Vernon Nazarene University in Mount Vernon Ohio. She has extensive background in accounting and office work. She acted as Office Manager to several companies before becoming the Office Manager for DuraTech Industries in Raleigh, NC. She was soon promoted to General Manager of Operations and held this position for 12 years, overseeing all staff assignments, division accounting, project accounting, and all other aspects of operating a manufacturing plant.
Ms. Newman joined HRI in March of 2021 and maintains all the company’s business, financial, and personnel records. Her accounting duties include accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, as well as related federal and state reports. She keeps records of project costs, invoices projects, monitors project budgets, and creates financial reports. She also assists with preparing proposals, formats reports and articles, and attends to other project-related activities. Ms. Newman handles all personnel matters, files, and reports and is responsible for the smooth operation of the office. She maintains HRI’s memberships with various professional organizations and serves as HRI’s Institutional Review Board Secretary.
